Primetals Technologies has received the final acceptance certificate (FAC) from Gerdau Special Steel North America for the modernization of its electric steel plant in Monroe, Michigan, U.S.A. The project included modernizing the existing electric arc furnace (EAF). The electric steel plant was also equipped with a new twin ladle furnace, a new material handling system, and related auxiliary equipment.

The new ship lift that recently opened in Niederfinow is built with steel from Dillinger. Located at the eastern end of the Oder-Havel Canal in Niederfinow in Brandenburg, it hoists ships in a suspended steel trough over a 36-meter difference in elevation from the Oder into the Havel Canal and vice versa.

JSW Dolvi has placed an order with Primetals Technologies for comprehensive maintenance services, including spare parts supply, for its new continuous casters at the steel plant in Dolvi, Maharashtra province, India. The slab casters have a production capacity between 4 and 4.5 million tons of steel per year.

Primetals Technologies recently received a new order from voestalpine for implementing the knowledge-based quality control system Through-Process Quality Control (TPQC) at the steel plant in Donawitz, Austria. Implementation is scheduled for the 2nd quarter of 2023.
