Danieli Centro Maskin HiGrind technology for automatic control of billet grinding

Last November Danieli Centro Maskin successfully commissioned two billet-grinding units for Jiangsu Shagang Group, in Zhangjiagang, China.

• Electrics and automation system replaced with new equipment
• New remote IO panels added reduce potential of damages in case of any incident in E-rooms
• RH-plant and ladle furnace back in operation in a very short period of five months

Primetals Technologies has successfully revamped electrics and automation systems at the Presidente Vargas Steelworks of Companhia Siderúrgica Nacional (CSN) in Volta Redonda, Rio de Janeiro State, Brazil.

Danieli was awarded the order for a plant upgrade of the steel mill of Pittini Group in Verona, Italy.

• Modernization of the basic automation systems for processing line KGL 1 (continuous annealing line)
• Operational safety, plant availability and personal safety will be increased
• Follow-up order to the partial modernization implemented by Primetals Technologies in 2018

In September 2020, the Steel Division of voestalpine, an international steel and technology corporation, awarded Primetals Technologies an order to modernize the basic automation systems of the continuous annealing line 1 (KGL1) in the Linz plant in Austria. The replacement of the now obsolete systems will improve the operational safety and availability of the annealing plant as well as increase personal safety.

Höganäs’s Laufenburg site in Germany produces high quality metal powders for additive manufacturing. The recent launch of its new VIGA atomizing plant means that not only is Höganäs setting new standards for powder quality, but also for workplace conditions.

Habaş Sınai ve Tibbi Gazlar İstihsal Endüstrisi, Turkey, selected Danieli to supply its new wirerod line and slab caster electrical and automation systems, along with technological packages.
To be installed in the Aliaga steelmaking plant, the New wirerod line will produce a wide range of steel grades - including low- and medium-carbon steel, welding wire, high-carbon and PC wire and reinforcement steel - at the maximum rolling speed of 110 m/sec.

thyssenkrupp has equipped the "Schwelgern 1" blast furnace in Duisburg with a new technology: The so-called SIP process ("sequence pulse process with induced shock waves") helps increase efficiency in the furnace – both within the company and worldwide by marketing the technology.

• Process optimization from Primetals Technologies will replace the existing Level 2 systems on four BOF converters
• Greater computational accuracy, highly automated converter operation and fewer additives
• Smooth project execution through local and remote support via the Internet

In July 2020, EVRAZ NTMK, a Russian steel producer, awarded Primetals Technologies an order to upgrade process optimization of the four BOF converters in its Nizhnij Tagil plant in Russia.
