Endless casting and rolling operations right from the first heat

On December 18th, thanks to the joint efforts of Danieli and Nucor teams, Nucor Steel Florida safely started on schedule, melting, casting and rolling in endless mode from the first heat.

ElvalHalcor grants final acceptance for new high-performance aluminium hot strip mill from SMS group

Greece-based aluminium producer ElvalHalcor S.A. has granted SMS group the final acceptance for the new four-stand high-performance hot strip mill installed at the Oinofyta facilities near Athens.

Anhui Anhuang Machinery Co., Ltd., based in Anqing in the Chinese province of Anhui, has placed an order with SMS group for a fully automatic closed-die forging line for pistons. Anhui Anhuang will be one of the first automotive suppliers in the field of massive forming in China that is capable of manufacturing pistons for cars and trucks in a fully automated process. For SMS, this is the first reference customer in China for a closed-die forging line for pistons.

SMS group is supplying a secondary copper smelter to Ames Copper Group, a joint venture between Prime Materials Recovery Inc. and Cunext Group, for the facilities in North Carolina, U.S.A.
The plant will produce up to 50,000 tons of copper anodes annually. The plant start-up is scheduled for 2021.

The new headquarters of the French daily newspaper Le Monde officially opens today. The building provides Paris with a new architectural highlight. Steel from Dillinger plays a key “supporting role” in the structure: the steel structure of this extraordinary project near the Paris Austerlitz railway station contains 1,000 tons of Dillinger heavy plate. Both Dillinger and its subsidiary Dillinger France produced the plate used in this new building.

The Danieli MIDA endless casting rolling plant in Mesa is one of the most efficient and green steel producing facilities in the world

Irving, TX – Commercial Metals Company (CMC) announced that their micro mill in Mesa, Arizona, CMC Steel Arizona, has begun receiving renewable energy from Salt River Project’s (SRP) new “Saint Solar” electricity generation plant.

The new, Danieli Centro Combustion hydrogen multi-air burner operates with a methane and hydrogen mixture to reduce CO2 emissions.

Through recent decades CO2 emissions have been reduced by increasing thermal efficiency.

• Arvedi ESP line was restarted 3 days ahead of schedule

In September, the Arvedi ESP (Endless Strip Production) line at Acciaieria Arvedi in Cremona, Italy was restarted after a major upgrade.
