Danieli will start dispatching the first part of the total 33,000 tons of technological equipment ordered

On October 23, a ground-breaking ceremony took place at the Nucor Steel Brandenburg site in Kentucky, along the Ohio River, a strategic plant location to serve US customers.

According to Nucor officials, “The state-of-the-art Plate Mill Complex, with its overall value of 1.7 billion USD, is the largest single investment in Nucor’s history. The project is proceeding at full speed”.

One of Russia’s largest heat treatment lines has been successfully commissioned at TMK’s Seversky Pipe Plant

TMK’s Seversky Pipe Plant has awarded SMS group the Final Acceptance Certificate for a heat treatment line for tubes and pipes at its Polevskoy site in Russia’s Sverdlov region. The line is one of the world’s most productive facilities with an annual capacity of up to 300,000 tons of pipes with diameters between 168 and 370 millimeters, a wall thickness of up to 40 millimeters and lengths of up to 13.5 meters.

The EU Commission has granted thyssenkrupp Rasselstein GmbH an extension of the permissible period for using chromium trioxide. With the publication in the EU Official Journal on 21/10/2020, new review times for the use of chromium (VI) now apply for the production of tinplate and special chromium-coated packaging steel from the company. The period expires on 21/10/2027 for tinplate and on December 31, 2028 for special chromium-coated steel.

In August 2020, Primetals Technologies received an order from HBIS Group Handan Iron and Steel to upgrade an existing BOF converter in the steel plant in Handan, China, to a KOBM (“Kombinierter Oxygen Blown Bottom Maxhütte”) converter including the complete automation system.
