ThyssenKrupp has reorganized its materials services operations in Germany

Effective April 8, 2015 the activities of ThyssenKrupp MetalServ GmbH, ThyssenKrupp Stahlkontor GmbH and ThyssenKrupp Schulte GmbH are being legally combined under the roof of the new ThyssenKrupp Schulte GmbH. With immediate effect all business activities of the previously separate companies will operate under the name ThyssenKrupp Schulte GmbH.

The merger of the companies is in connection with the Group's Strategic Way Forward and follows the overriding goal of integrating ThyssenKrupp's businesses more closely so as to create sustainable value by working together as a diversified industrial group.

"This organizational realignment is an important step for us as a full-service partner to our customers. We have reduced the number of individual companies and expanded our product portfolio, our nationwide network, and our range of supply-chain and system-component solutions," says Dr. Oliver Tietze, CEO of ThyssenKrupp Schulte. "By merging the companies we are now even more focused on the ThyssenKrupp brand. Through increased integration we will optimize the performance of the business units and at the same time create synergies within the Materials Services business area and the Group as a whole."

With around 3,200 employees, sales of roughly 2.5 billion euros, 600,000 m² of storage capacity, 400 processing facilities, and 100,000 articles available ex stock, the new ThyssenKrupp Schulte GmbH is one of Germany's leading service partners for materials distribution and processing. Some 70,000 customers from all sectors of manufacturing industry enjoy fast and reliable services from a network of over 50 locations throughout Germany. Our extensive range of products includes rolled steel, stainless, nonferrous metals and specialty steels. ThyssenKrupp Schulte supplies these materials as flat products, sections or tubes from stock or precisely tailored in line with customer specifications. With supply chain and system component solutions for all aspects of materials distribution, ThyssenKrupp Schulte creates additional competitive advantage for its customers by working closely with them and delivering just-in-time to their production lines.
